FAMILY

I was born Nicholas John Burrin known as Nick Burrin in Beckenham Kent England in 1957. I am quarter Swiss-German. My father was a master printer and my mother stayed at home to look after my elder brother, sister and I.

SCHOOL

My life is amazing, full of wonderful experiences, a very active childhood playing many different sports including rugby, football, hockey, cricket, tennis, swimming, rowing, sailing and boating in general. As a child, we spent most school holidays and weekends at our holiday home in Elmer Sands, in West Sussex. I really love the sea and beach life, it really is a wonderful place and I live near there today.

At the age of twelve, I was sent to a very strict boarding school for difficult children, not that I was naughty or difficult, but I had dyslexia and my parents felt I needed more help with my work. So they felt that this boarding school was the right place. For me, it was a matter of survival but it taught me a lot about myself, it gave me a sense of my own strengths. And being away from my parents and family meant that I grew up faster and became more responsible.

WORKING LIFE

I left school at the age of seventeen and my first job was a retail management course with Debenhams in Guildford. I passed my exams and moved to London and find a job where I could progress faster.

I found a small high fashion menswear company and within 18 months, at the age of nineteen and a half, I was made manager of one of the branches and I helped the owner buy the clothes for the shops as he felt I had a good eye for up and coming fashion designs, which I really enjoyed.

After a year or so, I decided that I wanted to open a restaurant. I moved to Chichester and opened an American style restaurant, now at the age of twenty-one. It was a huge success and I sold it three years later and moved to London and teamed up with one of my friends who I had met in the school playground at the age of eight. We set up a property company, buying, selling and renovating Victorian houses. This business grew incredibly quickly and was very successful and over the next few years, we opened a specialist food company supplying food to Harrods and Selfridges. At the same time, I had a hobby helping musicians and bands record and prepare them to go on tour.

DEVELOPMENT

Also in 1994, I started working for a property development company, buying developments for them all over England, including Lancaster, Leeds, Hull, Sheffield, London, Horsham, Cornwall etc. In 1998, I moved to Elmer Sands in West Sussex and bought a house right on the beach and converted it into a New England Style home and even called it ‘New England’. This gave me the inspiration in 2001 to create a company called "New England Lifestyle" designing and making handmade white furniture until 2016.

INSPIRATION Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi

In 1989, I met Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, and I spent five years traveling with Shri Mataji learning first-hand about so much. In 1993, Shri Mataji told me to go off and meditate on my own, and if I did that, I would understand everything. A year later, in the summer of 1994, I had these amazing experiences and I turned these writings and recordings into my first book 'So Daisy’s Really Are Made in Heaven', which was finally published in 2010.

NICK BURRIN PUBLISHING

My books are the true story about Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi's life and the total truth about sahaja yoga. If you really want to know the truth, then it's very important you read all of my books to understand exactly what has happened.

In 2010, I published my first book "So Daisy's Really Are Made In Heaven", which I presented to Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi in 1996, in front of 500 sahaja yogis at Heathrow Airport. Mother said in front of everybody, "At last, not somebody writing about sahaja yoga but writing about God". Mother then held the book up and said, "This book will be published".

In 2011, I published my second book "Beyond All Doubt Is Jerusalem The Golden City". The book was also presented to Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi at Christmas 2011. Once Mother received the book, Mother spoke for the first time in 2 years.

"The Absolute" was also published in 2011, "Freedom" was published in 2014, "Heaven Before Life And Life Before Heaven" was published in 2015, "The Truth" was published in 2016, and "Silence" was published in 2017.
